post number eight

been a fine spell since i last posted, had a grand time in petit forte. do not remember the last time i had that much fun with the family. it was also a time for observations. differences between past years. had a very serious conversation with mom. scared me a little; not that it wasn't something i didn't already no. it was over a game of cards. always did love a good game of crazy eights. i wish i was back in petit forte; sittin' around the fire drinkin' with the boys or out in the zodiac with shawn or jumpin off the wharf and boats with jacquiline. 

apparently the only people who say all the good ones are taken are the ones who can't get one.. duh.

I know I don't have the prettiest face for you to look at, I know I don't have the skinniest waist for you to hold, but I do know that I have the biggest heart to love you.

I want to be the kind of girl who leaves an everlasting impression. I don't want to be the type that you'll forget in a week. I want to be hard to forget. I want to have the kind of impact on someone where they know they'll never find anyone else who could ever take my place, because it's damn time someone realized that.

If I could go anywhere in the world, I would chose the sky. But I wouldn't stop to mingle with the birds or race the jet planes or even catch a ride on a rocket. I'd just keep going, and maybe if I flew high enough, I would melt into the sun. And I would finally burn with the type of passion I've only ever dreamed of.

I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, and that enables you to laugh at life's realities.

I guess what scares me the most is knowing that at any moment, you could rip my heart out of my chest, tear it into pieces, throw it on the ground and stomp all over it. And that I’d just pick it up and hand it back to you.

When I was a little girl I used to read fairy tales. In fairy tales you meet Prince Charming and he's everything you ever wanted. In fairy tales the bad guy is very easy to spot. The bad guy is always wearing a black cape so you always know who he is. Then you grow up and you realize that Prince Charming is not as easy to find as you thought. You realize the bad guy is not wearing a black cape and he's not easy to spot; he's really funny, and he makes you laugh, and he has perfect hair.
